Description

The Cervélo S5 has one job—get to the line before everyone else. Under the likes of Wout van Aert, Marianne Vos, and Christophe LaPorte, the new model has already proven itself as a tool without equal. In the 2022 Tour de France, this bike propelled Wout to the highest ever Points Classification score of the modern era. At 480 points, he was 194 points ahead of his nearest rival—tangible proof that Cervélo continues delivering aerodynamic gains to our World Tour athletes.

The new S5 has reduced drag by 65 grams, increased the frame’s surface area, and still reduced overall weight. Deeper frame sections maximize UCI-allowed shapes, while the iconic V-stem has been further refined alongside a new fork design to simplify the front end.

A ground-breaking new wheel design co-developed with Reserve increases stability and reduces drag in turbulent aero conditions.

FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

V IS FOR VELOCITY

The iconic V-stem not only improves handling at high speeds, it’s now easier to adjust. All spacers are included, with a single bolt length—making the system 53g lighter and simpler.

FRAME ENHANCEMENTS

Thanks to updated UCI regulations, deeper aero profiles were introduced, adding 65g of drag savings. The S5 frame is now electronic shifting only, which allowed additional shaping refinements and a cleaner dropout.

TIRE CLEARANCE

Comes with 28mm tires, but can clear up to 34mm measured. The frame is optimized for Reserve 52/63 wheels, which save 5+ watts over previous designs.

HANDLEBAR REFINEMENT

More comfortable with improved flat transition from bar to hood. Now uses a two-bolt interface allowing 0–5° tilt.

SIMPLIFIED FITTING

Comes stock with a 15mm offset seat post (vs 25mm on older model). Previous posts are forward-compatible.

SRAM INTEGRATED POWER

Red and Force builds include Quarq Zero power meters with +/-1.5% accuracy, better stiffness, lighter weight, and better temperature compensation.
